Configuring an ISO 15765 Transport Layer

There are two ways to configure messages for an ISO 15765 transport layer:

Using the Signal Dictionary

Using the Transport Request and Transport Response transforms in MxTransIt

To create Transport Messages using the Signal Dictionary:

1.Select Project‑>Signal Dictionary from the MxVDev main menu.

2.Select the CAN-TP tab.

3.Use the Add button to create two messages: One for request and one for response.

a.Enter the name and description.

b.Select the Message button.

c.Select the Stimulus (for request) or Response button.

d.Check Variable Length.

e.Enter a Maximum Length of 4095.

f.Click the Apply button.

4.Select the Data Routing tab:

a.Select CAN-TP (ISO 15765) from the drop-down menu.

b.Enter the IDs:

The Tx Id is the CAN Arb ID for the message sent to the ECU.

The Rx Id is the CAN Arb ID for the message sent from the ECU.

The broadcast Id is the Arb ID for the Tester Present message.

c.Select the Bus from the drop-down menu.

d.Check the box if you are using Extended CAN messages.

e.Click OK.

5.Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the response message. Do not flip the Tx/Rx Arb IDs on the Data Routing tab.
