Sample TestCase

Sample TestCase

To build a TestCase, do the following:

1.From the MxVDev main menu, select File->New->TestCase.

2.Enter a Name for the TestCase. This is the internal descriptive name. The .mxc suffix is appended to form the TestCase file name.

3.Select the units to be used for time measurements.

4.Enter the Test Duration. This is the maximum time the TestCase is allowed to run.

5.Enter the Test Resolution. The Test Resolution is the minimum amount of time between Transitions for Signals in this TestCase.
To change these properties and others, see TestCase Properties .

6.Press the OK button. The Pick Signals box is displayed.

7.On the left-hand side, select the type of signal to be added. For example, Stimulus>Standard.

8.Select the signal and click addPickSignal to add it to Selected Signals.

9.Repeat steps 7 and 8 for each signal you are using.

Note: If you are working with a large TestCase, use the Signal List to select which Signals to display. You can add any number of Signals, however a maximum of 200 Signals can be visible in one TestCase.

10.Click the OK button and save the TestCase with an appropriate name. We recommend that TestCases be saved in the ScenariosAndTestCases folder or a subfolder of it. You can also add additional default Scenario/TestCase folders.

MxVDev displays the TestCase viewer/editor. An asterisk following the TestCase name, as shown below, indicates that the TestCase has not been saved:

Most of the values you entered here can be changed. For more details, see TestCase Properties and Picking Signals. You can also use the Auto Add option to test Signals without adding them to the TestCase.

To run your TestCase, see Running TestCases.
