Use this procedure to rename a Signal. If you are renaming multiple Signals, you may prefer to use Signal Name Mapping or Find and Replace.

Note: Renaming a signal does not add it to the Signal Dictionary. The renamed signal will not be in the Signal Dictionary, unless it is already there. To update, see Using the Signal Dictionary.

1.Select a signal name in a TestCase or Interactive Test Panel.

2.Right-click to display the signal context menu:

3.Select Rename.

4.Enter a new name for the signal.

5.Click the checkbox to change the signal name in all TestCases. If the box is not checked, only the signal in the current TestCase is renamed.

6.Click OK.

Note: Renaming a signal does not add it to the Signal Dictionary. The renamed signal will not be in the Signal Dictionary, unless it is already there. To update, see Using the Signal Dictionary.

Renaming Signals in the Entire System

Use this procedure to rename a Signal everywhere it is used in the system: MxTransIt, the Signal Dictionary, and in TestCases.

1.Rename the port in MxTransIt.

2.Export the port.

3.Import the Signal into the Signal Dictionary using the Connections dialog.

4.Use Find and Replace to rename the Signal in all TestCases.
