1.To download the MxSuite software, go to the MxSuite Downloads page (http://www.danlawinc.com/downloads/). 2.Select MxServe. When prompted, log in with your credentials. 3.Select the MxSuite software you wish to install. For most evaluation purposes, we recommend the version available under "Current MxSuite™ Release". 4.Double-click on the downloaded files and use the installation wizards to install MxServe and MxSuite. Note: Always install MxServe before running MxSuite. 5.If you have a new or changed license, use the procedure in Licensing. If you have an existing license, you can use it with the new software. If you have difficulties, refer to Expert Installation below. |
Installation Checklist•You may need to have administrator privileges on the computer to perform the installation. •Versions 3.32.188 and newer: You need to have .NET 3.5 SP1 already installed. Many windows applications use the .NET libraries from Microsoft. To see if it is already installed, check under Control Panel‑>Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP), or under Control Panel->Programs and Features (Windows Vista/7). Look for: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP 1. You can find a download link at: •Versions 3.36.1 and newer: We recommend that .NET 4.5 be installed. At least NET 4.0 is required. Many Windows applications use the .NET libraries from Microsoft. To see if it is already installed, check under Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP), or under Control Panel->Programs and Features (Windows Vista/7). What to InstallTwo installers are available for download: •MxSuite vMM.II.RR.BB.exe (where MM.II.RR.BB corresponds to the version of the release), which includes: oMxVDev - Test development and execution oMxTransIt - Test environment modeling, co-simulation, ... oMxDiff - Test results differencing tool •MxServe.msi, which includes: oMxServe - A Windows service that hosts a Token License Pool and serves tokens to the MxSuite components. oMxServe Monitor - An application that interfaces with the MxServe service. It shows information about the status of MxServe, how many users there are, how many tokens are in use, etc. It allows you to add and remove tokens. MxServe must be installed on your PC or on the token pool host before running MxSuite: •Fixed tokens - Install MxServe on the same PC as MxSuite. •Floating tokens - Install MxServe on the token pool host. See Floating Licenses. The table below shows typical installation scenarios, along with the list of the minimum installation required in each case. You can install all three programs whatever your usage scenario. Note that you can have several versions of the MxSuite installed at once. When you install a new version, earlier versions are not overwritten (by default) or uninstalled. To uninstall prior versions, use the Uninstall MxVDev command accessible from the Start menu. Install the MxSuite by clicking on the installer file. The installer file name is of the form: MxSuite vMM.II.RR.BB.msi where MM.II.RR.BB corresponds to the precise version of the release. You will see when you launch the MxSuite Installer, that there are three programs you can install. •MxServe - A Windows service that hosts a Token Pool and serves tokens to the MxSuite components. •MxServe Monitor - An application that interfaces with the MxServe service. It shows information about the status of MxServe, how many users there are, how many tokens are in use, etc. It allows you to add and remove tokens. •MxSuite - The MxSuite application software
